Suzanne Detol  (FEI 4*) USA

Suzanne Detol is a former vaulter and has founded several vaulting clubs — two in the 1980s and more recently 2 in Oregon, DevonWood Vaulting Club and Brookwood Vaulters. She has been a mentor to vaulters, coaches, longeurs and judges for the past 30 years, and in 1998 was named AVA Mentor of the Year.
Suzanne has worn many hats in the AVA—she is a current member of the board of directors, served as general secretary, executive VP, Region II supervisor, Region III supervisor, AVA competition secretary, medal test secretary and technical committee chair.
An AVA judge since 1990, she became an FEI O judge in 2001, and is well respected in the international judging arena. She was a vaulting judge at the 2002 World Equestrian Games and the World Championships in Brno, Czech Republic in 2008. She has served as the US chef d'equip for three World Championships, including the last WEG in Aachen, Germany, 2006. She has also judged dozens of CVI’s throughout the world, as well as the Canadian Provincials and British National Championships. She served as the Chief Judge 2010 World Equestrian Games in Kentucky, and has recently been appointed as the President of the Ground Jury for the 2018 World Equestrian Games in Tryon, NC.

                                   Helma Schwarzmann (FEI 4*) GER

Since 1958 vaulter and leisure rider. 1963 and 1964 German Champion with the team of Riding Club Goslar. 1978 Examination as a national Vaulting Judge. Since 1981 international Judge.   Owner of trainer A-licence in Germany.

Examination as international Trainer. Honored with title “Voltigiermeister” (only 4 in Germany).
 
Direction of numerous courses and seminars for judges, trainers and vaulters in Germany and around the world.
1984-1996 member of the Vaulting Committee of the German NF.
Since 1988 until today member of the Committee “Vaulting” of the German Judges’ Association.
1990-1994 member of the FEI Vaulting Comm.
1994-2002 Chairperson of the FEI Vaulting Comm.
1991-2002 first national trainer for vaulting in Germany. (During these years 64 medals of 84 possible at WM and EM )
 
Several times Chef d’Equipe at CVI’s, EM’s and WM’s.
Plenty of applications as judge at CVI’s, EM’s and WM’s.   WEG in Aachen 2006 and Caen 2014.

                                         Gaby Benz (FEI 4*) ITA
 
Born and grown in Germany and lived till the age of 32 in Rome (Italy). Now married in Austria, living with her family (two daughters, 8 and 12 years old) in Graz in the South-East of Austria, owner of 4 horses (2 jumping horses from own breeding, 2 vaulting horses). In the "real life" customer care manager of one of the biggest fashion stores of Austria.
Active vaulter (individual an level "A" team) for 10 years until 1982, Trainer since 1985, National judge (Italy) since 1994, International Judge since 1998 (judging several European and World Championships since 2005, this year PGJ at European Junior and World Senior Championship in Austria), judged dozens of CVI's and Vaulting Worldcup Competitions throughout the world (Worldcup Final 2013 in Braunschweig). Member of the FEI Vaulting Committee since 2011.


Craig Coburn (AVA R, USEF R, FEI 4*) USA
Craig Coburn began his vaulting career in 1972 at the age of nine with Hidden Hills Horseman Vaulters in Southern California. In 1976 he was a member of the Hidden Hills National Championship "A" Team. In 1980 he won the Silver Men's National Championship at Pepperdine University (out-scoring the Gold competitors!), and traveled to Paris, France to win a large international championship at the Salon du Cheval.
After moving to the Bay Area to attend UC Berkeley, Craig vaulted with Sundance Vaulters and was coached by Adrienne Stang. While at Sundance, Craig coached a number of vaulters with great success.
In 1986, under coach Nancy Stevens-Brown, Craig won his first of three consecutive Gold Men's National Championships. Craig competed in a number of international competitions over the years including the FEI World Vaulting Championships in 1986 and 1988.
Craig's extensive involvement on the "grown-up" side of vaulting began in 1984 when he was elected to the AVA Board of Directors and later became Executive Secretary and a member of the Executive Board while still in college. Craig continues to be an active member of the AVA Board of Directors and holds positions on the following AVA committees including Technical, Ballot, Fest and International. He has been a member of the USEF Vaulting Technical Committee since its inception in 1986 under the umbrella of the AHSA. Craig was the US Chef d'equipe for the CVI Santa Cruz in 1990.
Craig first became a "r" judge in 1995 and then promoted to "R" in 1998. Most recently Craig was promoted to an FEI judge after finishing his international requirements.
